Tintatek 1K Colour Binder 400ml – Custom Colour Matching Aerosol
Your Colour. Mixed Into an Aerosol.
Finding the right colour is often the hardest part of a repair. Tintatek makes automotive and motorcycle colour matching more accessible by allowing you to mix a selected formula and transfer it into a pre-gassed aerosol binder.
The system uses 27 master tinters to recreate thousands of colours. Begin with your vehicle’s paint code, follow the formula from the Tintatek Colour Search Engine, then fine-tune the mixture to account for fading, ageing, or previous repairs.
How To Apply Your Top Coats
Surface preparation
Clean the surface to remove dirt and dust
Sanding
Wet sand the bumper with g320 until no more gloss.
Prime
Apply Epoxy primer, with each layer 5 mins drying time. After spraying 3 layers, wait for 1-2 hours for touch dry.
Sanding the Primer
After primer has dried, sand the primer with g600 sandpaper.
colour (base coat)
Apply 3 layers of base coat of desired colour with 5 mins waiting time between layers. After 3 layers, wait 1-2 hours for touch dry.
Clear Coat
Spray 3 layers of clearcoat, details of the three layers:
- Spray a thin layer
- Spray a very wet layer until white water adds up
- Wait until the white area disappears, spray a fast wet last layer
Curing
Wait at least 8 hours for full cure
Common mistakes
Spraying too close
Make sure to spray at a distance of 15cm
Painting in humidity
Humidity will affect the drying time and how the paint dries, sticks, and looks on a surface.
High humidity slows drying, causes blushing and hazing, and results in poor adhesion
Wrong waiting time between layers
Waiting too long between layers will cause low adhesion. Not waiting enough time will also cause low adhesion but to the previous surface.
Touching before curing
This wil leave permanent marks on the paint which you will need to redo the job to get rid of it
