Meet Tintatek™: Colour Matching, Put in Your Hands
The issue isn't spraying. It's finding the right colour.
Common frustrations:
✓ Can't find paint code
✓ Multiple colour variants
✓ Wrong touch-up paint
✓ Expensive bodyshop repairs
Tintatek™ is an innovative colour-mixing aerosol system that gives professionals and serious enthusiasts greater control over automotive and motorcycle paint matching.
Instead of relying on a fixed range of pre-mixed colours, Tintatek uses 27 master tinters that can be blended to recreate thousands of colours. Using our Colour Search Engine, you mix the selected formula directly into a pre-gassed aerosol binder, creating a ready-to-spray colour without the need for a spray gun or compressor.
Because real paintwork changes through age, sunlight and weather exposure, a factory colour code may not always produce a perfect match. Tintatek allows the colour to be fine-tuned to the vehicle’s current finish—helping achieve a closer, more accurate repair.
From workshops and retailers to restoration specialists and experienced DIY users, Tintatek makes on-demand colour creation more accessible, adaptable and convenient.
Match your colour in 6 steps
Tintatek™ makes creating a colour-matched aerosol simple.
Find colour code
Retrieve existing manufacturer colour code of your vehicle (read this blog to know where to find your colour code). Log into TINTATEK colour search engine and insert the code nto the search box to get the tinter ratio formulas.
Mix the colours
Based on the suggested ratios, mix the tinter colours inside a mixing cup on the provided scale in the colour mixing kit. Mix until a smooth uniform colour appears.
Match the colour
Using the matching stick, apply a sample of the mixed colour onto a test card that is included in the colour mixing kit. The three shades of the test card shows the best colour of primer to be used under. Let the paint dry and put it against the vehicle that you wanted to match on to compare to the target colour. Adjust by adding tinter slightly as desired.
fill into binder
Remove the red puncture cap of the pre-gassed binder can. Place the white filling cup on top, twisting it clockwise to secure it. Transfer 50 grams of the mixed paint into the filling cup. Carefully place the plunger into the filling cup and slowly push all the content into the aerosol can. Remove the filling cup from the can by twisting counterclockwise. Restore the red puncture cap back to the can and turn it upside down.
Activate the aerosol can
Firmly slam the can from the top against a flat surface. Shake the can from side to side for 2 minutes. Remove the can's clear cap and place the nozzle on the can.
Spray
Attach the aerogun to the top of the can upside down. Make sure to conduct a spray test on a sample panel to make sure you are satisfied with the colour outcome.
What can you repair

hints & tips
For the most accurate and consistent results:
- Always match against a clean, polished area under natural daylight or colour-matching lighting.
- Use the vehicle’s colour code as a starting point, as ageing, fading and previous repairs can affect the actual shade.
- Weigh each tinter precisely and add small quantities gradually—minor adjustments can make a noticeable difference.
- Mix thoroughly after every addition to ensure the colour is evenly distributed.
- Spray a test card before applying the paint to the vehicle.
- Allow the test coat to dry fully before judging the colour, as its appearance may change during drying.
- Compare the test card from several angles, especially when working with metallic or pearl colours.
- Record the final formula and adjustments so the colour can be reproduced later.
- Prepare and prime the surface correctly before applying the colour coat.
- Follow the product instructions, wear suitable PPE and spray only in a well-ventilated area.

Frequently asked questions
Tintatek is an adjustable aerosol colour-mixing system. It combines a pre-gassed binder can with carefully measured colour tinters to create your required paint colour. You can begin with a recommended formula and then fine-tune it to match the actual colour of your vehicle, including changes caused by age, sunlight or previous repairs
Yes. Tintatek starts with the vehicle's original colour formula and allows controlled adjustments for fading, ageing, weathering or previous paint repairs. Spray the colour onto a test card, allow it to dry and compare it directly with the vehicle before making small adjustments.
A paint code identifies the manufacturer’s original colour, but the paint on a motorcycle or car can change because of UV exposure, weathering, age, polishing and previous repairs. Production variations and spraying technique can also affect appearance. Tintatek uses the paint code as a starting point and allows the formula to be adjusted to the motorcycle’s current colour.
Most colour-matched aerosols are prepared using a standard paint code and supplied as a finished colour. Tintatek gives you greater control. You can spray a test card, compare it with the vehicle and make small adjustments before finalising the colour.
This means you are matching the vehicle as it appears today—not relying only on how the colour appeared when it left the factory.
Start with the vehicle manufacturer, model, year, colour name and paint code, if available. Tintatek uses this information to identify a starting formula and the required tinters. Because existing paint can fade, the final colour should be checked on a sprayed test card beside the vehicle. Adjust and alter the paint ratio if needed.
Tintatek is designed to make adjustable colour matching accessible to serious DIY users as well as professional workshops. A precision scale, clear formula and test-card process help the user make controlled adjustments. Correct preparation, spraying technique, ventilation and personal protective equipment are still essential.
